Your driver will meet you at 8:00 AM at your chosen location in Agadir. We will begin our journey down the Souss Valley to the ancient walled city of Taroudant, a Berber town with a strong cultural identity. Here, you can admire the vibrant colors of spices, clothing, and flowers at the local market. After exploring the old city, we will continue to Taliouine, the heart of Morocco's saffron-growing region. We'll stop for a glass of tea infused with local saffron before proceeding to Taznakht, a major center for traditional Moroccan rugs. We will spend the night at a kasbah in Agdz. Dinner and breakfast are included.
Today, we drive along the Draa Valley through Zagora, where many historic fortresses can still be seen. We will stop in Tamegroute, a small town on the edge of the Sahara, to visit its ancient library, which holds a priceless collection of thousands of Quranic manuscripts. We then continue our drive along the Draa Valley to M'Hamid, the last town before the desert. From there, we'll venture across a vast plateau until we reach the magnificent sand dunes of Erg Chigaga. You will witness a superb sunset over the dunes and spend the night in a traditional Berber camp, enjoying a spectacular view of the stars.
On our final day, we depart from Erg Chigaga and drive across the fascinating dried lake of Iriki. We will then get back on the main road, passing through the small town of Foum-Zguid and making a stopover in Taznakht. At the end of the tour, you have the option to either return to Agadir or be dropped off in Marrakesh. If heading to Marrakesh, we will stop for lunch at the village of Ait Benhaddou before traveling through the stunning Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2260m). The panoramic views are unforgettable. We expect to arrive in Marrakesh at approximately 6:00 PM.
